Yummy watermelon! This one got into the Spring Show at the University - but in the second building - very exciting! My first piece to enter a show - yea!!!

Still Life 2... Lots of fun!

The semester is over and I have lots to post - This was a really fun semester! I'll try to post a little about each picture. I really like this one - it's my first eye-level painting:). I also experimented with glazing on this one:)

Okay, school is back in session and this is my first low key painting for the semester. So much to work on but I feel more comfortable with my work with every painting:). Still haven't mastered the art of photo taking without glare, however:(... and I think I need to try something new to mix with. Right now I am using Walnut Oil but some parts of this painting are shiny and some are matt. I know I can varnish the whole thing in about 6 months but I have to live with it until then:(... There has to be a better way - I'm up for suggestions:-D.

Well, I have been a member here since October and have yet to post a painting...so, I think it's time to start:). I am right in the middle of Still Life Painting classes with Still Life Painting 2 starting in a few weeks - I am not sure if this painting is my favorite, but it is sentimental - it's my son's shoe...
